iJOIN at MWC2015 #5GPPPMWC

iJOIN is present at Mobile World Congress in “EU 5G Research – 5G PPP / 5-Alive project” booth with a demo showing the concepts of:

  1. RANaaS implementation: The RANaaS platform implements an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model where resources are provided on a “as a Service” paradigm;
  2. Novel network management algorithms: The RANaaS concept provides an optimal split of the RAN functions between the mobile network and the cloud taking into account cloud-computing and mobile network parameters.

The demonstrations presented on this stand show the results of EU research projects that have already started work on the 5G solutions and the 5G-PPP will now build on these results to develop new concepts and standards and to quickly evolve towards technology trials.

Indeed, the EU and the European ICT industry have launched a new 5G Infrastructure public-private-partnership (5G-PPP) to invent, develop, implement and demonstrate a new 5G infrastructure for wide-scale deployment by 2020. The 5G infrastructure will offer radically new solutions for network throughput, energy efficiency, cost, availability, reliability, and connectivity for billions of people and devices.
