The set of partners guarantees three major objectives of the iJOIN project:

Internationally acknowledged technical expertise that guarantees high-quality output and allows for solving the iJOIN challenges and fulfilling the iJOIN objectives.

International impact through expected standardisation contributions, commercialisation in cooperation with business units, and a high level of dissemination activities in previous projects.

Diversity in order to cover all aspects of the iJOIN idea including cloud-aspects, backhaulaspects, radio-access-network aspects, aspects from different OSI layers, and diversity of stakeholders, i.e. operators, vendors, handset manufacturers, and cloud-infrastructure providers.
Institute IMDEA Networks
IMDEA Networks is one of the 8 IMDEA Research Institutes created in 2006 as a non-profit public Research Institute, with the objective of performing world-class research, carrying out technology transfer and attract talented researchers to the region of Madrid. Its multinational team is engaged in cutting-edge fundamental science in all areas of networking. The Institute identifies and addresses major scientific and engineering challenges in computer networking.
NEC Europe Ltd.
NEC Corporation produces tailored solutions for the core technologies and services required in a networked world, ranging from advanced semiconductor solutions, to large-scale mission-critical systems, systems integration, and broadband and mobile technologies. CEA LETI
Within CEA (Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy French Commission), the Laboratory for Electronics & Information Technology (CEA-Leti) works with companies in order to increase their competitiveness through technological innovation and transfers. CEA-Leti is focused on micro and nanotechnologies and their applications, from wireless devices and systems, to biology and healthcare or photonics.
HP IIC
HP is the largest ICT Company worldwide. HP is committed to realise innovative technologies and services, to help consumers, companies and public authorities to cope with daily challenges and issues, thus contributing to achieve their goals and expectations. HP’s offering spans from printing, digital entertainment solutions, through personal computing, software, services and ICT infrastructure. HP-IIC (Italy Innovation Center) is one of HP’s European Innovation Centers.
Intel Mobile Communications
Intel Mobile Communications GmbH (IMC), the mother company of IMC France SAS, is a subsidiary of Intel Corporation headquartered in Santa Clara, USA. The company develops and markets innovative semiconductor products and solutions for mobile communications most notably in the rapid growth market segments of smart phones, tablets and ultra-low-cost mobile phones. The system platforms developed at IMC combine cost optimised ICs, reference designs, and feature-rich software stacks with professional customer support throughout the value chain.
Sagemcom Broadband
The Broadband and residential terminals business unit accounts for 450 m € of Sagemcom group turnover in 2011. Thanks to its constant strategy of innovation relying on a proven expertise in broadband and telephony technologies, the business unit offers high-technology solutions focused on the needs of the connected home: broadband terminals, DECT wireless terminals, connected screens and radios as well as software solutions, and simplifying the installation and management of these different devices on the local digital network. Pioneer in conception and deployment of residential multiplay gateways, the business unit is today European leader for broadband terminals.
Telecom Italia
Telecom Italia offers infrastructures and technological platforms that allow voice and data to be transformed into advanced telecommunications services as well as leading-edge media and ICT solutions. Telefónica Investigación y Desarrollo (I+D), S.A. (TID) is the innovation company of the Telefónica Group. TU Dresden
Founded in 1828, Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) is a full-scale university with 14 faculties, covering a wide range of fields in science and engineering, humanities, social sciences and medicine. TUD prides itself for its international flavour and has partnerships with more than 70 universities worldwide. TUD’s emphasis on applications in both teaching and research has been honoured by leading industrial companies with currently fourteen endowed chairs.
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M) is in charge of higher education and research on technical and non-technical areas. The technical ones are centred on Telecommunications, Informatics, and Industrial engineering disciplines. The Telematics Department of UC3M is involved in education and research on broadband networks, mobile networks, advanced Internet networking and applications.
University of Bremen
The University of Bremen (UoB) was founded in 1971 and is among Germany’s top university regarding third party funding. The Department of Communications Engineering conducts research in the area of data transmission with priority on wireless systems, especially addressing next generation mobile communication systems and wireless sensor networks.
University of Surrey
The Centre for Communications Systems Research (CCSR) is a Research Centre in the EE department of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) at The University of Surrey (UniS), UK. In the previous UK HEFCE Research Assessment Exercises RAE2008, the EE department was ranked top among all Universities in the UK. With around 100 actively researching members, CCSR represents the largest European academic research group in mobile communications and networking.
