5G-TRANSFORMER network slicing at the IEEE NetSoft 2018 Conference

The 5G-TRANSFORMER project was present in the last IEEE NetSoft 2018 Conference, held in Montreal (Canada) during the last week of June. Alex Galis, from University College London (UK), and Kiran Makhijani, from Future Networks Huawei Technologies (USA) gave a half-day tutorial entitled “Network Slicing Landscape: A holistic architectural approach, orchestration and management with applicability in mobile and fixed networks and clouds”. In this tutorial, they made a review of research projects related with network and cloud slicing where they presented the architectural approach proposed by the 5G-TRANSFORMER project.

IEEE NetSoft 2018 is a conference where researchers and the scientific community join to shed light on enabling technology components and systems in support of future softwarized networks. The technical program of NetSoft 2018 featured 4 keynote talks delivered by world-class researchers and practitioners, a distinguished experts panel discussion, 10 paper presentation sessions and 3 demo sessions showcasing prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations of ongoing research. Four focused workshops and 4 practical tutorials complemented the programe.
