Under the motto “Towards a New Horizon”, the CDTI and the European Commission, in collaboration with the Board of Communities of Castilla La Mancha, organized the 10th Conference of the Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union in Spain, which was held on November 20 at the Palacio de Congresos de Toledo.
The objective of the Conference was to analyze the participation of Spain in Horizon 2020 in order to draw conclusions that allowed Spanish entities to improve their participation in the calls for proposals of the previous years of the Program. During the Conference, the novelties implemented in the pilot of the European Innovation Council (EIC) were reviewed. This was in order to bring the research to market. Also, the proposal of the European Commission (EC) for the future Framework Program (Horizon Europe) was presented, and it was analyzed with the help of the main Spanish participants.
After the institutional inauguration, which was attended by the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and a representative of the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, the main conference “Current status of the Framework Program Horizon 2020 and the future Horizon Europe” was run by the Deputy Director General of the DG Research and Innovation of the EC.
Also, the afternoon session had two other round tables, which was mainly focused on the future PM “Horizon Europe, the immediate future”. They analyzed the proposal of the European Commission with two different approaches, addressing first a more institutional and strategic perspective, and dedicating the second to the vision of the participants.
In addition, during the Conference there was an exhibition of posters of projects coordinated by Spanish entities that have been financed by the Horizon 2020 Program. The 5G-TRANSFORMER project presented a poster can be foundin the following link:
